
Since its establishment in March, 1979, Seoul’s Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) has become the Korean site for international exchange. Numerous international
conventions and cultural and art events take place at the COEX, considered to be the best convention and exhibition center in Korea. COEX facilities include 61 conference rooms
and 12 exhibition halls in a building of 4 stories and 4 basements, which total 36,364㎡ out of a total building surface of 430,000㎡. The convention hall can accommodate 7,000
people. High-tech office and management systems support the venue. More recently, the COEX has been expanding its culture and art spaces with the opening of a super-scale cultural
complex in May 2000; the COEX Mall, as well as the COEX Art Hall in August 2004.
